SCHOLARSHIP TENABLE IN REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUSFOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020

1.0Call for Application
The General Public is hereby informed that, theRepublic of Mauritius has opened the new scholarships for African Union States (Africa Scholarship Scheme Edition 2019) for the Academic year 2019/2020. Interested applicants are invited to visit the Mauritius Ministry of Education Website to access guidelines and application forms: http://ministry-education.govmu.org. The application form must be filled electronically, printed and signed. The hard copy should be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for nomination.

2.0Admission Requirements for the Scholarships
The applicant must submit the following documents:
 Completed application form;
 Certified copy of birth certificate;
 Certified copies of relevant educational certificates and transcripts;
 Study research plan ( of about 750 words for Master’s and 1500 words for PhD applicants);
 Medical certificate filled and stamped by registered medical practitioners in section 6 of the application form;
 Certified copy of passport biodata page, if available;

 For PhD applicants must provide evidence of support from the prospective supervisors from one of the Higher Education
Institution(s) (HEIs) in Mauritius at the time of the application (the list
of research themes/research interest can be obtained from the website
of the different HEIs);
Qualification and Eligibility requirements.
(i)Diploma programme.
Applicants must have either a minimum of five (5) credits at school
certificate(S.C) or general Certificate of Education (G.C.E) O-level or
international general Certificate of secondary Education(IGCSE) with a credit
in English language.
 The age limit for applicants should be above 18 years of age and
should not reached 26 years by the closing date of application;
 Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

(ii)Undergraduate programme
Applicants should have successfully completed Advance secondary school or Diploma and should satisfy the minimum pass should be division two atALevel or Upper second for diploma award
 The age limit for applicants should be above 18 years of age and
should not reached 26 years by the closing date of application;
 Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.
(iii) Master’s programme
Applicants should have successfully completed a Bachelor degreewith at least an upper second class.
 The age limit for applicants should not have reached 35 years;
 Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.

(iv)Doctoral study programme
Applicant should have amaster’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field.
 The age limitfor PhD applicants should not reached 45 years by closing date of application;
 Should have TOEFL/IELTS (English Proficiency Test) certificate.
NB:Any document which is not in English or French Language mustbe submittedwith a certified translation in one of the two languages (i.e English or French)
